WE ARE PARTNERSHIP ERIE
Who is Partnership Erie?
Partnership Erie is an outreach program of Penn State Erie, The Behrend College. This organization was established in 2001 to provide complimentary web planning, development, hosting, and maintenance services to the nonprofit community. Our mission is to engage with students and faculty in the Black School of Business in the community to provide the students opportunities to apply their knowledge to bona fide business problems.
The projects of this organization are executed as part of the course MIS (Management Information Systems) 387 and through Partnership Erie internships. Students have opportunities to apply what they gain in their MIS courses in website design, project management, and systems design to design and develop a website to benefit the business and nonprofit community, and to positively impact organizational goals and growth through these projects.
Partnership Erie Provides:
- Website Design Services
- Search Engine Optimization
- Social Media Design
- Application Development
- HELP Desk and IT trouble shooting for nonprofit organizations
Partnership Erie Process:
Our six step process covers gathering requirements from the client, creating a site map of the website hierarchy, creating a wireframe representation of a high level layout of the website, creating a detailed content layout design copy, creating and designing the website draft, and transferring the website to the client’s web host.
Partnership Erie has provided modern professionally designed websites through this six step process to many clients.
Ryan Scott, Intern
My internship with Partnership Erie was incredibly valuable for my personal and professional development. I was able to further expand my knowledge of concepts taught in the classroom and apply those to real-world, meaningful projects. I worked on websites across various nonprofit industries and was able to gain project management, leadership, and problem-solving capabilities. My internship directly translated into an improvement of tangible and intangible skills to help better prepare me for industry and future steps in my career.
Kaylyn Wheeler, Intern & Graduate Assistant (2021-2022)
Throughout my time with Partnership Erie, as both an intern and graduate assistant, I have gained real-world experience working on web development projects with clients. I have utilized time management skills while working on multiple projects, learned how to work closely with the clients, and conducted frequent meetings to discuss project status. I have learned how to provide professional and support services to non-profit organizations to build their business and provide an online presence. Working with Partnership Erie and Dr. Noce has been a wonderful experience that has benefited my growth as an individual. This experience has also provided me with so many skills that will benefit my future endeavors.
