Our Process

  1. The first step in the Partnership Erie Process begins with gathering information about the organization and the purpose of the project or service that we are providing. This is conducted through the Website Planning Document.

    • The Website Planning Document is filled out by the client to provide our development team with information about the project.
  2. The second step consists of designing the site map which is a break down of the website’s hierarchy that provides a visual of how many pages the website will contain.

    • Lucidchart is a system software that can be used to create sitemaps.
  3. The third step includes the creation of the wireframe which is a high level overview of the content the client wants to see on the website pages such as placeholders for the content location.

    • Balsamiq is a wireframing tool that is easy to use to create wireframes.
  4. The fourth step includes creating the design copy which is a more detailed wireframe. This includes specific content such as images, paragraphs, and headings that is created and presented to be an exact representation of what the website will look like. This step also includes Search Engine Optimization and User Testing.

    • Typically we will utilize Adobe Photoshop to create the design copy.
  5. The fifth step is where the website will begin to be designed on a development server to look exactly like the design copy, represented as a website. This format is created and shown to the client for approval. Many times we will work with the client on suggestions and will receive feedback on things to change as the website is developed to the final draft for client approval.

    • The draft of the website is created on Partnership Erie’s development server with DreamHost.
  6. The sixth, and final, step involves the Graduate Assistant working with the client to take the development server website, after receiving client approval, and moving the site over to the client’s web host service to publish for their audience to view.

    • The web host transfer process is conducted within WordPress from the development server and transferring to the client’s web host that utilizes WordPress.
